In The Circus, the Tramp becomes an accidental sensation after running away from the law and into the bigtop. His hilarious efforts to elude the police who think he is a pickpocket have the audience in stitches. He is offered a job at the circus where he meets the girl of his dreams.

One of the great undiscovered "Tramp" comedies, The Circus received an honorary Academy Award in 1928 and remains one of Chaplin's funniest comedic creations.
